The Bone war , in Indonesian Perang Bone , which the Dutch call Tweede Boni-expeditie (“Boni’s second operation”) or Makassaarse expeditie (” Makassar expedition “) is an operation conducted in 1825 by the Royal Indian Army Dutch against the kingdom of Bone in the south of the Indonesian island of Celebes .

Background

Despite a first expedition against Bone, Bugis troops entered lands that the colonial government of the Dutch East Indies considered under its control, crossing the border posts of Pangkajene and Labakkang and handing Prince Tanete to his throne. The governor general , Godart van der Capellen , decides to send 25,000 men to occupy the fertile lands between Tanete and Maros .
