The Kelud eruption in 1919 is a volcanic eruption of Kelud , an Indonesian volcano in Java .. That month, the awakening of the volcano expels 38 million m 3 of water from a lake which previously was at its peak, causing a lahar which, in addition to the pyroclastic issued also killed 5,110 people 1 . The eruption is one of the deadliest in historical times.
