Round Table Conference was held in The Hague , The Netherlands from 23 August to 2 November 1949 between representatives of the Kingdom of the Netherlands , the Republic of Indonesia and the BFO (“Federal Consultative Assembly”) representing various states that the Dutch had created in the archipelago). The conference concludes with the transfer by the Netherlands of sovereignty over the territory of the former Netherlands Indies to the Republic of the United States of Indonesia , excluding Western New Guinea , which it is agreed that the question will be discussed later.

The context

Prior to this conference, three high – level meetings were held between Indonesia and the Netherlands: the Linggarjati Agreement in 1947 , the Renville Agreement in 1948 and the Roem – van Roijen Agreement in 1949 .
