The Central Indonesian National Committee (literally “Central Indonesian National Committee” also called KNIP ) was a committee meeting to attend President Sukarno in the Indonesia newly independent. Originally it was only a consultancy body, only after that did it obtain legislative functions. Following the transfer of sovereignty to the republic of the United States of Indonesiainthe state adopted a bicameral system . The KNIP meets for the last time onto accept that the Republic of Indonesia join the Republic of the United States of Indonesia. This republic finally had a limited life and Indonesia became a unitary state in ; the working committee of the KNIP then became part of the representative council of the people 1 , 2 .
