Soejono

The Pangeran Adipati ( Prince ) Soejono ( Tulungagung ( Java , Dutch East Indies ) March 31 , 1886– London , January 5 , 1943) was a Dutch politician .

Soejono was the first native minister of the Dutch East Indies and Muslim of the Kingdom of the Netherlands . He belonged to a priyayi family and had himself been regent of Pasuruan and Volksraad . In 1942 , he was appointed minister without portfolio in London.

Soejono was part of the “moderate” fringe of Indonesian nationalism . , maar vond weinig weerklank bij het merendeel van zijn glücken voor de Indonesische wens voor grotere zelfstandigheid. He was respected for his intelligence, bestuurlijke ervaring in bescheidenheid.
